Fat Thursday sees King Carnestoltes roll up in the city, getting carnival under way and kicking off a weekend reign where transgression is the norm and fun is obligatory. As from Friday, revelry permeates the city’s neighbourhoods with masked dances, fancy dress contests, workshops, children’s shows, exhibitions and thirty parades to remind city residents that for carnival, anything goes!
