The botanical gardens in Montjuïc set the scene for this activity.
Barcelona is one of the cities which for some years has been organising the Bioblitz, a nature discovery activity consisting of an intensive biodiversity census carried out by scientists with the collaboration of the general public.
Bioblitz is organised by the Natural Sciences Museum of Barcelona; the Area of Ecology, Urban Planning and Mobility at Barcelona City Council; the Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB); the Friends of the Botanical Gardens Association; the Friends of the Natural Sciences Museum of Barcelona Association and the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (IBB).
More information on the activity can be found here.
