Barcelona’s local festival, La Mercè, is on from 22 to 25 September. This year’s guest city is Paris and the festival will be presenting current trends in street art, circus, dance and music from the French capital.

As usual, tradition is one of the three basic pillars for La Mercè, with human towers, dragons, giants and dance all showing the wealth of traditional Catalan culture. As for music, Mercè Música and the BAM festival are back with a huge variety of rhythms around the different stages in the city. As ever, street art also features strongly too.
