Throughout his life, Pierre-Auguste Renoir painted portraits of women time and time again. The painter managed to make them the centre of his particular artistic universe. His wife, his lovers, his friends and his models all ended up immortalised on canvas.
The exhibition includes almost 60 works and presents the evolution of Renoir’s work from a new perspective based on the different interpretations he made of the female image through his art. The display has been organised with the scientific collaboration and exceptional loans of the Orsay and Orangerie museums.
