An initiative which began in London in 1992, the Open House project was brought to Barcelona in 2010 with the aim of enhancing the understanding and appreciation of Barcelona’s architecture among the wider community. Including a range of buildings from Roman ruins to Catalan Gothic, as well as modern creations, Open House provides the opportunity to learn more about the city’s rich history and cultural heritage. Over the course of the weekend, there will be a host of free activities, including lectures, conferences and tours organised by architects and volunteers, to encourage locals to engage with the city and its buildings on a more intimate level.
