The 23rd edition of the FICMA turns Barcelona into the world capital for films on environmental awareness.
From 3 to 11 November, the 23rd edition of the International Environmental Film Festival (FICMA) is on at the CaixaForum, CosmoCaixa, Cinemes Girona, Institut Francès de Barcelona and the universities of Barcelona, Pompeu Fabra and Blanquerna. The festival is the longest-standing event for this genre.
This year’s festival kicks off with Terra, by Yann Arthus Bertrand, and ends with Eva Orner’s Chasing Asylum, a production paying homage to the activist Berta Cáceres who was murdered this year. Apart from the official section, the festival includes workshops and conferences, as well as film premieres and the Focus FICMA and Petit FICMA sections, with films which are not competing.
