‘A Thyssen Never Seen’ is a display of 63 works of art from the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection which had never left the Madrid museum together before, 42 of which had never been seen before in Barcelona.
The works are grouped into five themes: religious painting, portraits, still life, landscape and urban landscape. This establishes a dialogue between works and artists from different eras and different geographies. Some of the jewels in the exhibition include Harlequin with a Mirror by Picasso, Portrait of a Young Woman with a Rosary by Rubens, and Hotel Room by Edward Hopper.
