Guiseppe Verdi’s great drama, based on the novel La Dame aux Camélias by Alexandre Dumas, fils, is one of the most widely-performed and daily acclaimed operas in the world, with brilliant and well-known fragments such as the brindisi drinking song, the spectacular aria by the protagonist Sempre libera! and the emotive ending with Addio del passato.
A two-hour version now comes to the Palau de la Música, with a symphony orchestra, soloists, a choir, costumes and over eighty artists on stage.
