BCNegra, Barcelona’s meeting for crime novels

This year’s edition of BCNegra gets under way with the 8th edition of the Crims de Tinta award on 26 January.

Up until 3 February, the city will be welcoming authors, editors, critics, journalists and readers of thriller and crime narratives to discuss the genre, currently in an exceptional state of health. Highlights at BCNegra include the presence of Dennis Lehane, winner of the 2017 Pepe Carvalho award and one of the finest North American narrators around at the moment. This year’s event also pays homage to the 40th anniversary of the publication of La soledad del manager, by Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, and the 30th anniversary of the Semana Negra de Gijón, the first crime novel festival.
