The Magic Fountain in Montjuïc regains its magic this weekend following annual maintenance work which has kept it out of action for a month and a half. The return of the sequences of water, light and music offered by the Magic Fountain coincide with a new section on the City Council website dedicated to this popular attraction.
Up until 31 March, Friday and Saturday evenings once again offer a chance to enjoy the spectacular sequences which every year attract 2.5 million visitors. The fountain can now produce even more combinations of water and light, 7,000 in all, thanks to new systems installed in the last few years to make it more sustainable. It can spray roughly 2,600 litres of water per second, using groundwater from boreholes, while the lighting is achieved using LED technology. This curious data and other information of interest, such as display times and days, can all be found of the new section published on the Barcelona website.
