The building at Avinguda Diagonal, 420, one of the most emblematic in Barcelona, is key to understanding Modernisme, the Catalan Art Nouveau movement. Bartomeu Terradas commissioned Josep Puig i Cadafalch to design a house for one of his daughters in 1905 and this was the result.
Now it has been opened to the public, who can see the three outstanding parts of Casa de les Punxes: the ground floor, the main, or noble, floor, and the rooftop terrace, with its characteristic punxes, medieval-style pointed towers.
