The Barcelona International Comic Fair presents its most ambitious edition to date. This year there is a special focus in aviation comics with the exhibition ‘Comics in flight’, as well as an anthological display dedicated to Will Eisner, the creator of the graphic novel, 2017 marking the hundredth anniversary of his birth.
The International Comic Fair also marks the 100th anniversary of the magazine TBO, with a large display of 100 originals showing the public the best authors and series of the publication, with a section especially devoted to Josep Maria Blanco, winner of the main award at last year’s edition. Superheroes will also be present, with the ‘Superheroes out of control’ display, as well as an exhibition entitled ‘They called him Lucky Luke’, paying homage to one of the most popular characters in the history of illustrated stories.
The fair includes a programme of workshops on comics, animation and 3D printers, as well as the presentation of authors such as Bruno Gazzotti, Gina Alyse Wynbrandt, Kim Jung Gi, José Muñoz, Juan Padrón and Mauricio Vicent.
