Watching films in the open-air becomes something of a ritual on summer evenings every year. Various film sessions are being organised in the city, mostly with free admission, offering a chance to enjoy quality films by the sea, next to a castle under the stars, or in front of a community centre converted into a cinema hall. The rhythm for the weekend comes courtesy of the Festival of Song, with free concerts in languages such as Quechuan, Aymara and Nahuatl, while on Friday local festivals get under way in the neighbourhoods of La Vila Olímpica and El Carmel with a host of activities for all the family.
