Spring operating times start at the Magic Fountain

Operating times for the Magic Fountain and the city’s ornamental fountains have been adapted for spring, coinciding with the start of sequences at sunset and in line with criteria on sustainability and the rationalisation of schedules.

The Magic Fountain and the city’s ornamental fountains will start operating their spring schedule on Thursday 5 April. From then until 31 May , the fountain will be offering its traditional sequences of light, colour and music on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 pm to 10 pm. Displays start at 9 pm and at 9.30 pm.

The Magic Fountain adapts the start times for its displays to the sunset, in keeping with criteria on sustainability and the rationalisation of schedules.

The programme of displays at the Magic Fountain is varied, combining different styles and including current music. Last year’s music and fireworks spectacular is to continue, devoted to the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, the city of Reykjavik, the composer Enric Granados, and artists who have passed away, such as Leonard Cohen, George Michael, Pere Tàpias and Chuck Berry.

The fountain will also be keeping sequences which use music from films, with hits from films such as Rogue OneHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Iron Man 3, with pop and rock hits by the likes of Oasis, Queen, Madonna, George Michel and U2, along with Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson, Coldplay and Lady Gaga. Other successful displays will also continue, such as those featuring classical music and El cant de la senyera.

Current daytime operating times for the Magic Fountain and the fountains in Av. Reina Maria Cristina will be maintained: Sundays and non-working Mondays from 11 am to 3 pm, and working days from 11 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm.
