International New Roses Competition

A new edition of the Barcelona International New Roses Competition is being held at Parc de Cervantes from 11 to 13 May.

The competition was created in 2001 to raise not just public awareness of rose cultivation but also the profile of the Parc de Cervantes’ rose garden. A space has been reserved ever since for each edition’s winner rose shrubs.

Besides enjoying the new species of roses created especially for the competition, the public will also be treated to a range of activities this weekend to suit all tastes, including floral art and food displays and concerts performed by the Barcelona Municipal Band and the Cobla de Sant Jordi (a traditional Catalan music ensemble).
