In the centenary year of the Bauhaus school of design and architecture, this year’s Architecture Week places its emphasis on the legacy of different architecture movements from the start of the 20th century. The programme includes a representation of the Triadisches Ballett (Triadic Ballet), created by the painter and sculptor Oskar Schlemmer in the context of the Bauhaus stage (Auditori CaixaForum, 5 May), as well as a walking visit to the Mercat dels Encants conducted by Fermín Vázquez, chief architect for the project to remodel the market (9 May).
Carme Pigem, from the RCR Arquitectes studio (Pritzker Prize 2017 for the local and universal value of their architecture) will be presenting their most representative work (9 May). The ESPAIS OCULTS project will also give the public access to the Magic Fountain in Montjuïc, designed by the engineer Carles Buïgas (9 May).
