On 5 February, Barcelona gets this year’s FIM X-Trial World Championship under way in the city, where the discipline was first conceived in 1978. Since then, over the last 40 years, the total number of spectators the event has attracted tops 300,000. To celebrate the occasion, the Palau Sant Jordi will be setting up moveable stands so that the audience can get a close-up view of the motorsport event.
The favourite to win this inaugural round is Toni Bou (Montesa-Honda), who will be joined by Adam Raga (TRS), Albert Cabestany (Sherco) and Jeroni Fajardo (Vertigo). Other top riders taking part include Takahisa Fujinami (Montesa-Honda), Britain’s James Dabill (Gas Gas) and the guest rider, Jaime Busto (Montesa-Honda).
