Over the course of two weeks, various locations around the city will be offering a string of activities aimed at all sectors of the public and forming the backbone of the new Barcelona Science Festival.

The festival gets under way from 15 to 17 May at seven city bars as part of the Pint of Science Festival. On 17 May the urban and environmental planning expert Isabelle Anguelovski will officially start things off with a talk at the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona.

Two biodiversity censuses will bring together researchers and members of the public to locate and identify species living in the city: the BioBlitzBcn, from 19 to 21 May at the Jardí Botànic Històric, and the BioBlitz, on 27 May at the Parc de l’Oreneta. The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) plays host to the ACTS day on 22 May, a meeting for art, science, technical aspects and society, while on 25 the Museu Blau hosts the 4th Citizen Science Day. To round things off, the Science Festival is on 27 and 28 May. Once again this year, the Parc de la Ciutadella will be the scene for over a hundred activities for all sectors of the public, run by the most important bodies in science and technology.
