The month of January is associated with the festivities for Sant Antoni Abat (17 January), opening the festive cycle in Barcelona. The neighbourhood of Sant Antoni will be holding its local festival from 12 to 21 January, kicking off the city’s annual calendar of celebrations. Sant Andreu will be celebrating with the traditional Tres Tombs blessing of animals on Sunday, 14 January, while for music lovers the Tradicionàrius folk festival notches up its 31st edition and fills the city with music up until 23 March.
