Along with other entities from the Eixample district and organisations such as the Fundació Institut Confuci de Barcelona and the Casa Àsia, the Chinese community has been organising this event for many years now, keeping alive their traditions and giving others a chance to join in with their New Year celebrations.
There will be a parade at 11 am, and throughout the day there’ll be music shows and a culture and gastronomy fair in Pg. Lluís Companys.
The occasion celebrates Chinese New Year 2018, which starts on 16 February. This year is the year of the dog, with Yang Earth elements in proliferation.
Barcelona has a Chinese community of over 19,000 people.
