Gràcia’s green week is back. The Verdinada offers workshops, outings, talks and the traditional popular meal of organic ‘calçots’.
The Verdinada is a green week held in the Gràcia district in March and offering a programme of activities to raise awareness on the environment and sustainable action. This year the Verdinada is devoted to cultivation patches as a means of social and environmental transformation.
Activities include the traditional popular organic calçot meal (similar to young tender leeks) organised by the Lluïsos de Gràcia in Plaça del Nord on Saturday 10 March. On the same day, the Festa Verda will be held, a green party with workshops on horticulture, waste reduction and bicycle repairs.
Woodland and garden maintenance activities are being organised at the Bosc del Turull on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March, and on Sunday 25 there’s an outing to visit the springs in the Collserola Natural Park. Most activities are free and do not need to be reserved in advance.
