The Palace of Catalan Music was built between 1905 and 1908 by the architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner as the headquarters of the Catalan Choral Society, funded from subscription.
The Palace of Catalan Music is an architectural pearl of Catalan modernism, the only modernist concert hall declared World Heritage by UNESCO (4 December 1997), which is now an essential meeting point for cultural and social life Catalonia. It has also emerged as symbolic and sentimental heritage of a people that identifies with its history.
The building is organized around a central metallic structure covered with glass, which receive natural light makes the most significant building of the work of Domenech i Montaner in a magical music box that combines all applied arts: sculpture, mosaic, stained glass and wrought iron.
