Barceloneta’s local festival fills the maritime neighbourhood with festive fun from 28 September to 7 October. Various streets will be decorated, such as C/ Baluard, C/ Pescadors and C/ Atlàntida, with a string of activities including a communal botifarra sausage meal, karaoke, drinks and snacks, dances and concerts.
Other eagerly awaited and traditional activities are also in store, such as the famous Canó de Barceloneta, which sets off around the neighbourhood at 10 am on Saturday 29 September in the company and General Lagarto, bombarding young children with sweets and toys.
On the same Saturday, the fire run starts at 8.30 pm and fire beasts take to the Plaça de la Barceloneta accompanied by the reading of infernal verses.
The programme includes havanera singing and choral singing, as well as a takatà tournament, a sport created by local residents.
