The third edition of the Independent Barcelona Coffee Festival (IBCF) continues to introduce consumers to speciality coffees and connect professionals in this sector: bean roasters, importers, cafe owners and baristas.
Guests at the festival include Klaus Thomsen, founder of Coffee Collective (Copenhagen) and barista world champion in 2006; the Australians Morgan Love, founder of Silo Coffee, and Krésten Thøgersen, from Father Carpenter Coffee; Cory Andreen, from Motel Minibar (Berlin), and Michal Molcan, from Standart Mag (Prague).
There’s an open day on Saturday 13 October, with workshops and talks on speciality coffee, natural wine and craft beer. Of particular note are the beer tasting directed by Mikel Rius, from the Barcelona Beer Festival, and a meeting on natural wines and coffee. There’s free coffee throughout the day, with local gastronomy to go with it.
