Italia Repubblica Creativa is a programme of exhibitions and events to celebrate Italy’s Republic Day in the city. This year’s event offers some of the most important contemporary experiences from the artistic and cultural scene of Apulia, the guest region for 2019.
The programme runs from 14 May to 3 June and explores the artistic terrains of film, music, photography and design. Exhibitions, installations and ceremonies will be taking place in iconic places in Barcelona, such as the Filmoteca de Catalunya, the Fundació Enric Miralles, the Institut Italiá de Cultura and the Casa degli Italiani.
The main celebration will be La Festa, an occasion open to the general public and held in the Grimaldi ferry terminal in the Port de Barcelona on 2 and 3 June. Throughout the day on Sunday there will be workshops, shows, concerts and the typical pizzica and taranta regional dances, performed by Enza Pagliari. On Monday, besides these activities, there’s also a closing concert by the artists Nicola Conte and Carolina Bubbico.
