The gardens at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site are set to fill with music on Thursdays in July, with performances from Dani Nel·lo & Los Saxofonistas Salvajes, Marcos Valle, Gerard Quintana and Clara Peya.
Dani Nel·lo will be presenting his latest album on 4 July, bringing together pieces which are essential for understanding the history of the sax and its contribution to rhythm-and-blues, drawing from figures such as Arnett Cobb, Noble Watts and Red Pryscock.
The singer and guitarist Marcos Valle, a leading figure in Brazilian music, will be performing on Thursday 11 July. Valle has tackled genres such as samba, bossa nova, rock, funk, disco and psychedelic music.
On 18 July it’s the turn of Gerard Quintana. The Catalan artist will be presenting Intocables, a journey of songs which have been banned, persecuted, censured and despised. Accompanied by the group from the Vallès area, Oest Trip, Quintana will be performing songs by John Lennon, Víctor Jara, The Velvet Underground, Serge Gainsbourg, Crosbi, Pau Riba, Albert Pla, Bob Dylan and others.
The final concert is by Clara Peya on 25 July. Estómac is a show borne out of her creative relationship and friendship with the double bass player and producer Víctor Moliner. Peya and Moliner will be accompanied by the vocals of Magalí Sare, the percussion and electronic sounds of Dídak Fernández and the drums of Andreu Moreno.
