‘Dinners with Stars’ at the Fabra Observatory

The ‘Dinners with Stars’ activity at the Fabra Observatory combines scientific dissemination, stargazing and evocative gastronomy. The suppers are outdoors, at one of the city’s most privileged viewing points.
The evening starts with supper, with menus influenced by astronomy and served on the terrace at 9 pm.
After the meal there’s a science talk lasting around half an hour and a chance for the audience to ask questions, followed by a visit to the museum, the noucentista room and the telescope, as well as the room inside the main dome, which still contains its original elements.
From the dome visitors can observe distant constellations, stars and a large part of the solar system using the telescope made in 1904, one of the biggest and oldest still in use in Europe.
