The Jean Bouin is an athletics classic for amateurs and professionals alike and was one of the first city runs in Europe. Over half a million runners have taken part since 1920, in an event which has hardly suffered any interruptions in history.
This international event has fifteen runs for school children, professionals and federated runners, as well as the Open 10k (for anyone over the age of 18) and the Open 5k (for anyone over 14). The Open forms part of the Challenge BCN10k.
Both runs start from Av. Rius i Taulet, from 9 am onwards. The 5 km route ends up in Passeig Lluís Companys, in front of the Palau de la Justícia, while the 10 km run ends up back at the start point.
