Held in front of the cathedral every year since 1786, the Santa Llúcia Fair is one of the most popular in the city. It offers craft items and other elements which are typical for the Christmas period, filling Pla de la Seu and Av. Catedral with over two hundred stalls every year and offering a broad range of products.
The stalls are grouped into four main sections. The nativity scenes and figures section offers accessories such as caves, figures, candles and Christmas decorations. The greenery section offers vegetation, with natural and artificial trees, moss, tió pooping logs, cork, eucalyptus branches and more. The crafts section has all sorts of craft products and accessories, such as clothing, jewellery, decorative and gift items and much more. Finally, the music sector offers friction drums, tambourines and other traditional Christmas instruments.
While the Santa Llúcia Fair is on there’s a chance to enjoy activities relating to Christmas traditions, such as courses organised by the city’s nativity-scene makers association, a giant tió pooping log, the traditional Carassa de Nadal parade, performances by traditional dance groups and music.
